When I was 16, I was homeless and without any guidance or support. No direction, no plan, hanging around the wrong people. But despite these setbacks, I never lost sight of my dream of going to university and making a better life for myself.
With the help of some incredible mentors and support systems, I was able to clean up my act and turn my life around. I ended up winning a scholarship, and became the first of my family to attend and graduate from university. But I knew that not everyone had the same access to support that I did.
That's why I founded my business - Student Support. I wanted to create something that would make it easier for students to access the support and guidance they need to succeed. From affordable tutoring and mentorship programs to mental health resources, we offer a range of services designed to help students overcome the obstacles that stand in their way.
The most rewarding part of this work is seeing the impact it has on students' lives. Whether it's a student who finally understands a difficult subject thanks to our partnership with Udemy or a student who finds themself more relaxed before an exam thanks to Calm, every success story reminds me of why I do what I do.
But it's not just about the success stories. It's also about the students who are struggling, who feel like they're alone and don't know where to turn. It's about the students who are facing financial barriers, mental health challenges, or systemic obstacles that make it difficult for them to succeed.
I care about these students because I was once one of them. I know how hard it can be to keep going when you feel like the odds are stacked against you. But I also know that with the right support, anything is possible.
That's why I will continue to work tirelessly to create a world where every student has access to the support and guidance they need to succeed. Because I believe that when we invest in students, we're not just investing in their future, we're investing in the future of our communities, our society, and our world.
